It is important that all students, faculty, staff and visitors, including those with disabilities, have continued equitable access to all visual and auditory aspects of University-related programs and activities. This project aims to upgrade existing services already provided on campus. Several initiatives have already begun including changing the part-time adaptive technologist position to full time, hiring and training six students to support conversion of course materials to alternative formats, and establishing operational partnerships with the Center for Learning and Teaching, the University Center for Training and Development and Library services. Ongoing efforts will be made to upgrade the Alternate Format Text Conversion Lab and the existing student-use adaptive technology labs in the libraries and to purchase additional SmartPens to support students' independent note taking.
