Several initiatives related to this project have begun, one has been completed and several more will begin soon. In July, the Division of External Affairs was reorganized into the Division of Advancement to better portray its mission and prompting several initiatives to bring about fundraising success. These include an audit to review and assess development operations, a feasibility study by outside counsel, creation of a multi-year advancement plan with annual fundraising goals and creation of an appropriate staffing plan to ensure fundraising success. Projects prepared to start in coming budget years are hiring an assistant vice president for development, re-establishing the Binghamton University Foundation's Planned Giving Program, establishing a Corporate/Foundation Giving Program and developing a strong case for support that is integrated into the overall philanthropy marketing campaign.
