SP5.6 Enhance infrastructure for Creative Activities and Research

Goals Advanced: SP 5–Goal 1, Goal 2, Goal 3

How will we know that the project was a success? Which indicator is it likely to move?

This project focused on the immediate personnel needs the Division of Research faces in delivering critical research services to support the current and planned increase in research-active faculty. With $45,000 in funding provided through the budget process and additional funding from the division, two new full-time positions in research administration were created to support the anticipated increase in sponsored-program activity. These placements are assisting the division to proactively develop initiatives to streamline grants administration, lessen the administrative burden faculty face in meeting the mandated compliance requirements of sponsored-programs administration and support principal investigator informational needs. Indicator is increase in research revenues.

When is it likely that success will be realized?

These positions were successfully filled during the 2013-14 Academic Year. The impact of the two positions will be monitored to ensure the project’s desired benefits are achieved.
