AVANGRID offers full-tuition scholarships, capstone project support

Avangrid Inc. established the “Avangrid Master’s Studies in the United States” scholarship, which covers the cost of tuition at Binghamton and other fees (such as mandatory University fees) for selected recipients. Four graduate students will be selected this year instead of two as in the past. Recipients must be U.S. citizens and master’s-level students in disciplines announced annually in the company’s call for applications. Previous study priorities have included renewable energy, smart distribution networks, engineering, data science, cyber security, legal/compliance/regulation, human resources, finance and information technology. In addition, recipients may not maintain employment during the period for which the scholarship is awarded so they are able to focus on their studies.

Avangrid Foundation Inc. established the “Avangrid Watson Capstone Projects” fund to help undergraduate students pay for the costs of their senior capstone design projects, specifically energy or environmental projects. Capstone project teams typically consist of three to five senior students in the Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science.
