Tom Popielarski provides departmental leadership and manages the day-to-day operation of Human Resources and Payroll. Reporting directly to the associate vice president for research administration, the director guides and manages the overall provision of the full range of human resources, employee benefits and payroll services for regular, graduate and undergraduate employees within the Research Foundation.
Lynda EmmertSenior Human Resources Associate
Lynda Emmert supervises the payroll process and oversees the onboarding of employees. She administers policies and procedures as applied to regular employees, graduate students and fellowship payroll activities for the Research Foundation and related departments. She assists project directors, employees and students with the completion and review of appointment forms and labor distribution. Emmert conducts tax treaty analysis for non-citizens along with coordinating a wide range of employee benefits.
Emily HermanovitchHuman Resources Assistant
Emily Hermanovitch's responsibilities include administrating graduate student appointments and benefits. She answers general questions regarding payroll and leave administration. Hermanovitch maintains professional leave records for Research Foundation employees and related departments. She also assists project directors, employees and students with appointment form completion.
Sarah CampbellHuman Resources Specialist I
Sarah Campbell provides clerical and functional support for the Research Foundation HR and Payroll Office. She coordinates payroll activities for non-exempt and hourly employees by monitoring time sheets for hours worked and leave administration for those employees. Campbell participates with the new hire process by onboarding newly hired employees and maintains worker's compensation claims and unemployment benefit verifications.
Kendra WoodsAdministrative Assistant I
Kendra Woods' responsibilities include receiving phone calls, answering questions regarding specific appointment information, payroll schedules, payment information and mail distribution, etc. She assists employees and students with the completion of Form I-9 certifications, tax forms, direct deposit, address changes and employment verifications. Additionally, Woods provides support for recruiting and applicant tracking.
