Tom Popielarski provides departmental leadership and manages the day-to-day operation of Human Resources and Payroll. Reporting directly to the associate vice president for research administration, the director guides and manages the overall provision of the full range of human resources, employee benefits and payroll services for regular, graduate and undergraduate employees within the Research Foundation.
Emily HermanovitchAssistant Director
Emily Hermanovitch handles sensitive information related to employees and the organization. She provides guidance, assistance and follow-up on Research Foundation policies, procedures and documentation. Hermanovitch resolves payroll, labor distribution and benefit enrollment issues. She also supervises inputs into human resources information systems.
Tammira HickokHuman Resources Specialist II
RF Human Resources and Payroll
Tammie Hickok provides clerical and functional support for the Research Foundation HR and Payroll Office. She coordinates payroll activities for non-exempt and hourly employees by monitoring time sheets for hours worked and leave administration for those employees. She participates with the new hire process by onboarding newly hired employees and maintains worker's compensation claims and unemployment benefit verifications. Additionally, she administrates tax treaty benefits for employees by collecting data and determining eligibility.
Kendra WoodsBenefits / Payroll Specialist II
Kendra Woods' responsibilities include administrating benefit programs for regular employees and graduate students. Woods maintains professional leave records for Research Foundation employees. She assists project investigators, employees and students with Research Foundation appointments, inputs payroll transactions and assures labor distribution is charged correctly.
Kathy KorbaAdministrative Assistant
Kathy Korba's responsibilities include receiving phone calls, answering questions regarding specific appointment information, payroll schedules, payment information and mail distribution, etc. She assists employees and students with the completion of Form I-9 certifications, tax forms, direct deposit, address changes and employment verifications. Additionally, Korba provides support for recruiting and applicant tracking.
