Background
Luis Castaneda's research interests include the aesthetic portrayal and dissemination of the Chicano/a identity in the U.S.-Mexico border, borderlands theory and epistemology, colonial and post-colonial studies, interior diaspora, Mexicanism and Indigenism. His research traces the making of the Mexican American peoples from the Creation Generation (U.S.-Mexico War) to the emergence of Chican@ Generation of the 1960s and 1970s.
