Boren Graduate Fellowship - National Security Education Program (NSEP)

This Fellowship of up to $30,000 enables US graduate students in any field to add an international and language component to their education through specialization in area study, language study or increased language proficiency.

Fellowships support US graduate students who will pursue the study of languages and cultures deemed critical to US national security, and who are highly motivated by the opportunity to work in the federal government (in exchange for the funding, Boren Fellows agree to a NSEP Service Requirement).

The duration of the fellowship is a minimum of one semester to a maximum of two years (the overseas component is limited to 12 months). It may provide for oversees or domestic study or a combination of both. The fellowship does not support the general tuition costs of obtaining a degree, but rather supports study that enriches a graduate program.

The Binghamton University internal deadline for the scholarship is typically two weeks prior to the national Boren deadline to ensure appropriate processing time.
