Oxfam America CHANGE Initiative

The CHANGE Initiative is a competitive program that trains college students to become actively engaged in Oxfam America's social justice mission. CHANGE develops student leaders who are voices for positive social change and who inspire greater awareness in others. CHANGE leaders meet for a week of training that equips them to be CHANGE advocates. Oxfam assumes the cost of room and board, and travel. Open to freshmen and sophomores.

After the training, CHANGE Leaders return to campus energized and ready to work on social justice issues. Oxfam staffers and a CHANGE campus adviser provide guidance to the student activists throughout the year.

CHANGE Leaders help bring Oxfam’s mission to life by building networks, organizing their peers to take political action, and hosting campus awareness events like teach-ins, panel discussions, art exhibits, and speakers’ tours.
