National Institutes of Health (NIH) Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Competitive scholarships to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds committed to biomedical, behavioral, and social science health-related research careers. Applicants must be US citizens from an economically disadvantaged background with at least a 3.3 GPA. Previous laboratory research, involvement in extracurricular science activities or having already taken advanced courses strengthens the application. In addition to the $20,000 scholarship, recipients are eligible for a paid 10 week summer laboratory experience. Recipients must serve 1 year of full-time employment at NIH for each year of scholarship.
