Opportunities

Looking for Undergraduate Research experience?

The lab typically trains 4-6 undergraduates in research annually and positions open up all the time.  Many of our students perform independent Honor's Theses, attend and present at national conferences, and a select few earn authorship on peer-reviewed publications.  With lab experience, most go on to further study in doctoral graduate programs, medical school or other health-related disciplines.  Opportunities abound!

To get started, all you need to do is send an email to Dr. Deak (tdeak@binghamton.edu) that includes:

**Due to the large volume of undergraduates seeking positions, we give highest priority to ambitious students who have authentic interest in biomedical research.  Dr. Deak typically responds to queries within 2-3 days.

Interested in Graduate School?

The lab has many opportunities available for trainees and employment at all levels of experience, and we are always looking to bring ambitious and hard-working people into our research program.

Looking for a post-doctoral position?

Post-doctoral scientists are typically supported (at least initially) by research grants awarded to Dr. Deak.  Depending on your research interests, you may be eligible for funding through the Developmental Neuroadaptations in Alcohol and Addiction (DNA2) institutional training grant (T32). Either way, the first step is to send an email to Dr. Deak (tdeak@binghamton.edu) with a brief summary of your interests and your curriculum vita.
