Spotlight on Recent Accomplishments
Dr. Andrew Vore was awarded a NRSA F31 fellowship from NIAAA to support his doctoral training (2019-2021). He was also awarded the Graduate Empowering and Accelerating Training (SUNY GREAT) award in March 2021, and the Graduate Student Excellence Award for Research from Binghamton University in March 2021.
Drs. Deak and Savage published a jointly edited Book Series entitled, "Late aging associated changes in alcohol sensitivity, neurobehavioral function, and neuroinflammation." The series was published in International Review of Neurobiology, Volume 148.
Dr. Anny Gano was awarded the Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research (ACER) Journal Award for an Outstanding Paper by an Early Career Investigator for a portion of her dissertation work (Gano et al., 2019) in June 2020.

Children's books for outreach activities
We have developed a series of Children's books to teach kids about their developing brains:
The original book in the series, Your Fantastic Elastic Brain, was published in 2010. This book was written for 4-8 year olds and has sold over 140,000 copies worldwide.
In 2013, we published a children's book entitled, The Owner's Manual for Driving Your Adolescent Brain. The book is used for outreach activities targeting kids aged 8-12 years old to teach them about their brain, emphasizing changes they can expect during adolescence.
Following up on the original book, we published Good Night to Your Fantastic Elastic Brain in 2022, also targeting kids in the 4-8 year old range.
