STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES
Student Support Services, in partnership with Binghamton University, is a premier program which promotes academic success and personal growth for First-Generation, Low-Income, or Students with Disabilities. Through our innovative practices and programming, students are able to achieve their goals and enrich their college experiences.
What we do:
SSS students receive support services including academic, career, and personal counseling; tutoring; assistance in obtaining financial aid; and much more. We provide workshops and seminars on a variety of topics, a few of which include computer literacy, study skills, time management and career exploration. In addition, SSS students are given the opportunity (and are encouraged) to attend cultural enrichment events.
Student Support Services demonstrates that earning a quality education and achieving life-long success is not limited by financial status, background, or disability. In collaboration with Binghamton University, our program strives to transform participants into student leaders and future agents of change.
SSS SUMMER PROGRAM (S4P)
New Binghamton University students who have been invited to join Student Support Services are eligible to attend the SSS Summer Program (S4P). S4P is an opportunity for us to welcome you to SSS and to help you prepare for college at Binghamton University. S4P runs for five weeks in conjunction with the Summer II session classes at BU. Participants spend the first week on campus, followed by four weeks of on-line interaction. This is an opportunity that Binghamton University only extends to SSS Students and it will help you transition from high school to college.
