What is your favorite thing about working for Upward Bound?
My favorite thing about working for UB is that I get to give back to rural schools and communities much like the one I grew up in. I always wanted to provide the resources I needed growing up and my position at UB allows me to do just that!
What was your favorite class or activity in high school?
In high school, I was OBSESSED with all things band (I still play the tenor saxophone) and chorus (singing is my favorite pastime), clearly I still kind of am.
Fun fact or hobbies?
In high school I was involved in competitive marching band and indoor percussion and won an Atlantic Coast Championship event my senior year!
What's one piece of advice for Upward Bound students?
A large part of growing and learning is figuring out that you can and should ask for help when you need it, when you're not sure if you need it, and when you're confused. You can ask for reassurance, validation, and for someone to explain something again. The most meaningful support that UB can provide is the kind that you ask for. We're listening! Its okay to not be an expert or know all things related to college, that's why we're here! You do not have to figure it all out on your own.

I like the opportunity to work with a great team for a great program.

I enjoy music, sports, and video games!
What's one piece of advice for Upward Bound students?
Ask for help when you need it! The Upward Bound team is happy to help!

My favorite thing about working for Upward Bound are the people I work with!
What was your favorite class or activity in high school?

Art class has always been my favorite, with science/chemistry as a close second!
Fun fact or hobbies?

I really enjoy pop culture/watching movies, and I also really enjoy crafting and making things!
What's one piece of advice for Upward Bound students?
My biggest piece of advice to Upward Bound students is to advocate for yourself! You know yourself best! It may be intimidating at times, but do not be afraid to tell people what you need to succeed! :)

What is your favorite thing about working for Upward Bound?
I love that everyday brings new experiences and an opportunity to work with our incredible students!
What was your favorite class or activity in high school?

My high school offered a joint social studies/english class called World Cultures, Art and Literature, where we learned about the intersections between social changes and developments in the arts and literature, which was so interesting to me!
Fun fact or hobbies?

I love to read, do yoga, go on hikes, and cook! I'm also currently learning how to unicycle!
What's one piece of advice for Upward Bound students?
Try not to get too overwhelmed by all the craziness of life, school, work, and whatever else is going on. Take each day as it comes, and slowly work through it!
