Connect and compete: Bearcat Co-Rec Challenge

Co-Rec is a long-cherished tradition in Binghamton University Residential Life. In past years it’s been a fall event — usually a football tournament pitting teams from each building within a community against each other. In 2023, thanks to donor support, Residential Life expanded the scope so that now each community competes for the ultimate Bearcat Co-Rec Challenge championship, awarded in the spring semester to the winning community. In the winter challenge, teams competed in mental competitions such as trivia, as well as physical challenges such as tug-of-war, relay races and knockout basketball. It’s a great way for on-campus residents to meet and compete against each other in games that anyone can play.

In support of this expanded tradition, Residential Life has invested in a five-year outdoor recreation improvement plan, including new turf fields and recreational facility improvements throughout the residential communities. Keep up to date with Residential Life improvements and fun on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok @bingreslife, as well as the co-rec webpage.
