The Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Partnerships supports students, faculty and staff in the development of their entrepreneurial interests through a variety of activities.
First, we have a full-time entrepreneur in residence, whose primary focus is on helping Binghamton University community members launch innovative ventures. To complement this activity, we offer a New Venture Accelerator program, a two-semester seminar course sequence that runs every Friday afternoon during the fall and spring semesters; all members of the University community are welcome to participate. In addition, we have a limited amount of development space where student teams can meet and/or work on developing prototypes. We also provide start-up funds to teams that need support in proof-of-concept development.
The office holds monthly "mixers" where entrepreneurs affiliated with Binghamton and the local community can meet to discuss challenges they are facing and learn about resources available in the community.
Finally, we collaborate with the Upstate Start-Up Alliance, which supports a team of entrepreneurial mentors with a variety of start-up backgrounds. We also maintain access to an extensive network of technical, legal, financial and management mentors in the community who are interested in assisting start-up ventures.
