Required Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
Students will:
- demonstrate knowledge of one or more complex global issues that transcend individual regions or cultures.
Requirements and Guidelines
- A complex global issue is defined as either:
- a phenomenon that involves interactions or relationships among different historical, social, political, economic, environmental or cultural systems;
OR

- a phenomenon that impacts people across individual, local, regional, and global scales.
- A GL course must focus on two or more distinctive regions or cultures within the framework of a global issue.
- A GL course must focus on at least one world region or culture outside of the USA, Canada, and Western Europe (exceptions may be granted based on clear and persuasive justification).

Required Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) For G - Global Interdependencies
Students will:
- demonstrate knowledge of how two or more distinctive world regions have influenced and interacted with one another and how such interactions have been informed by their respective cultures or civilizations.
Note: The G - Global Interdependencies category will no longer be offered after the Spring 2026 semester. It is being replaced with the GL - Global Issues category beginning in the 26-27 Academic Year.
