Project Description
Database technician Internship

One position
Spring Semester 2023 or Summer 2023
5 hours/week at Roberson for 10 weeks

Roberson engages and educates a diverse population by providing regionally significant exhibitions and programs in art, history, and science.

Roberson Museum and Science Center has converted their Collections Management Database from PastPerfect to CatalogIT, a professional cloud-based solution. Roberson’s collection of 12,000 is composed of fine art, historically significant objects, and biological specimens from the Southern Tier Region of New York and Northern Pennsylvania.

Preferred skills:
History, art history, or natural science majors and/or a candidate looking to gain experience in museum collections care.
Experience working with databases
Required skills:
Computer proficiency
Experience using a scanner and camera
Attention to detail
Self motivated
Independent work style
Successful candidates would assist the Collections Director with tasks included, but not limited too:
Data clean up resulting from the migration of data from PastPerfect into CatalogIT.
Uploading images into records
Scanning and photographing collections

A stipend of $1,000 may be made available upon satisfactory completion of tasks assigned by the Collections Director.
