Project Description
Volunteer tour guides will play an important role in the development of the Phelps Mansion Museum's preservation and interpretation. Volunteers will have the opportunity to gain experience in conducting historical research and composing tours of the house. Tours are 45 minutes to 1 hour in length and cover the entire house.
Responsibilities:
• Promoting & sharing the history of the Phelps Mansion Museum, the families who lived in the home, the local history of Binghamton, and the history of the Industrial, Gilded & Progressive Eras
• Ensuring all visitors a safe and enjoyable tour
• Presenting each tour in a knowledgeable and professional manner
• Giving public and educational tours
• Conducting research while not on tour
• Assisting with the care of collections

Hours
Public tours are every Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11AM to 5 PM. Flexible hours are available, with other private tours occurring outside of these hours with advance booking.

Training Required:
