Project Description
FaHN is looking for volunteers to assist with Farm to School programming! Farm to School is a win for students, farmers, and communities. That's why our Southern Tier Farm to School Program works to increase the use of local food in school meals, integrate food and agriculture education in the cafeteria, classroom, and community, and empower students through involvement in their local food system.

We are seeking volunteers to assist with performing taste tests, conducting tray waste studies, and maintaining school gardens in Broome and Tioga County school districts. Activities may include; preparing food the day of a taste test, distribution during the taste test, assisting with outreach to students about the importance of local food and farm to school, performing tray waste studies during school lunch periods and collecting, analyzing and inputting data, and helping to maintain school gardens. Contact Emily Motti, emotti1@binghamton.edu at Binghamton's Center for Civic Engagement to learn about how you can get involved!
