Congratulatory Letter

On behalf of the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts (NACTA), I would like to offer our congratulations for the inaugural issue of TheaComm, and express my heartfelt thanks to the staff and faculty members and students at both universities who made it happen. I would also like to gratefully acknowledge the support of many friends for the collaborations between NACTA and Binghamton University.

Reflecting over the course of cooperation, we are proud of what we have achieved together in theatre education, and excited to see Chinese opera, an important art form in the world has been a vital link between two universities in joint-teaching, art practices, academic exchanges and also in establishing our international reputation. Our courses, workshops, outreaches and tour performances have been recognized by students at Binghamton University, and have also expanded cross-cultural arts practices for NACTA teachers and students alike, more over, have helped to build people-to-people connectivity between two nations. All those things that we have done together have had far-reaching effects because they allow local populations to witness our two institutions' positive underlying ideologies on international education and to savor the harmony between these two different cultures that have resulted from friendly cooperation and mutual respect on both sides.

At the end of 2021, we established the Centre for Theatre Arts and Collaboration (CTAC). This visionary consensus will bring our long-term and solid partnership to a new level with TheaComm as an exemplification. What is more exciting is that we also jointly held the the First Youth Scholar Forum on Interdisciplinary Research in Theatre and Chinese opera, helping young people to become even more outstanding educators and artists.

Once again, congratulations for the launch of TheaComm!
