Background
Deborah Palmer is a clinical instructor at Binghamton University's Decker School of Nursing. She has many years of experience in healthcare with a focus on community health. She has held positions as a clinical nurse, home care nurse and educator, as well as serving in administrative and leadership roles.
As a home care nurse in a hospital-based, certified home health agency, she was responsible for screening, coordinating and arranging care for all patients to meet multiple service needs, ensure continuity of services and eliminate fragmentation of care across the continuum. As an educator for home care she was responsible for staff development, orientation, education and compliance with state, federal and Joint Commission requirements. She was also part of the implementation team for the electronic medical record in home care.
