9 Things to Do This Labor Day Weekend in Binghamton

Labor Day weekend is coming up and after a frantic two weeks of figuring out classes it’s time to take a break with a long weekend. I will be staying here in Binghamton for the holiday and I found some cool activities to keep busy. Here are some fun events on and off campus that can help us students de-stress and have fun!

Check Out the Fleishman Fun Friday

The Fleishman Center will be hosting Fleishman Fun Friday: Career Cool-Down for all students. This Friday enjoy ice pops and cool drinks while visiting different stations to talk to various career clusters and have the opportunity to sign up for upcoming career events. Students will also have the opportunity to take professional LinkedIn headshots, perfect for those looking to expand their network. Attendees will also have the chance to win a $25 dining gift card or a Fleishman prize pack!

Visit GUSTO! Italian Festival

Endicott’s Little Italy on Witherill Street will be hosting its annual GUSTO! Italian Festival this Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be an array of food, drinks and live music to enjoy!

Explore the Garlic Festival

Take a trip to the Recreation Park in Binghamton for the American Civic Association’s 21st Annual Garlic Festival! Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. you can enjoy entertainment, different garlic vendors, demonstrations and more.

Cheer on the Rumble Ponies

Friday through Sunday, watch the Rumble Ponies take on the Somerset Patriots at Mirabito Stadium in Downtown Binghamton. Each night offers different promotions and highlights such as Saturday’s bucket hat giveaway!

Stroll Through The Farmer’s Market

Broome County and Binghamton City both offer bustling farmer’s markets during each weekend. Both markets are filled with local vendors offering fresh produce, baked breads and other delicious foods.

Experience Interact Sound Art

Binghamton University’s School of the Arts presents SONIC IMMERSION: Interactive Sound Art on Saturday and Sunday. Musicians, bands, skaters, bikers or anyone interested should check out this skatepark turned into a sound art playground.

This Saturday, enjoy live music by original artists at 4 p.m. in the Glendale Park for the final Music in the Glen 2025 Summer Concert performance. Listen in the shade under the trees and be sure to check out the walking paths!

Enter the Twilight Zone

Bring a blanket to Recreation Park and settle in to watch a free showing of three classic episodes of The Twilight Zone from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. this Saturday. This showing is presented by the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities at Binghamton University and The Rod Serling Memorial Foundation.

Stroll the Streets of West Side Binghamton for Porchfest

Take a walk through west side Binghamton for the 10th Annual Binghamton Porchfest and check out over 150 performances by local and regional musicians. They will be playing on residential porches, yards and driveways from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Jill DeCancio is an intern for the Office of Media and Public Relations, and a junior majoring in English with a minor in Spanish. She is interested in pursuing a career in journalism. In her free time she enjoys shopping, reading and spending time with her friends.
