The Binghamton University president serves as the chief executive, responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and oversight of all institutional operations and affairs. The president is appointed by the State University of New York (SUNY) Board of Trustees upon recommendation by the Binghamton University Council. The president reports directly to the Chancellor, who is the chief executive of the SUNY system.
