Nahed Noureddine

Romance Languages and Literatures

Nahed Noureddine specializes in Translation Studies. Her research focuses on the distribution and reception of North African literature in Spain, specifically on the translation of feminist Arab literature in the Western world. Her interest derives from the particularities of these texts which, while having a peripheral position in Arab literature, often transcend their geographical borders to present a deep reflection on women’s situation worldwide.

She has published her research in several international journals as well as a book entitled Le Maghreb en Traduction which won the 2016 “Encouragement de la recherche” Award of the Académie des sciences d’outre-mer in Paris.

N. Noureddine has taught Spanish, French and Arabic for native and non-native speakers as well as Translation Studies in Canada and the United States. In Binghamton University, she currently teaches Intermediate Spanish, Social Movements and Immigration in Spain, as well as courses in the field of Mediterranean Studies during the summer sessions.
