Background
Abdul Hai Alami received his PhD from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, in 2006. He has held faculty positions at the Mechanical Engineering Department at the Hashemite University in Jordan (2006-10), Al Ain in UAE (2010-12) and the University of Sharjah (2012-25), where he served as professor and chair of the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering Program.
Alami is among world’s top 2% scientists according to Stanford University scientists ranking since 2020. He is an editor and associate editor for prominent journals with publishers such as Elsevier and Taylor & Francis.
His areas of interest are novel ways of mechanical energy storage (CAES, CGES, and buoyancy force) as well as the synthesis and analysis of nanomaterials for various energy conversion and storage applications.
Alami has authored more than 200 publications in highly reputed journals, as well as books on energy storage technologies, solar photovoltaic manufacturing and sustainable additive manufacturing
