Undergraduate research starts on Day 1!
The First-year Research Immersion (FRI) program empowers first-year STEM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics) students to make scientific and personal discoveries. Students conduct research as part of their academic studies and work in teams with a faculty mentor to investigate unanswered research questions that may yield publishable results in multiple research disciplines. Students gain more than a research experience; they start a path toward leadership, teamwork, and scientific inquiry necessary to contribute to the world.
