Quiller captures national title
Rory Quiller concluded his collegiate athletic career in dramatic style at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, becoming the first Binghamton athlete ever to win a NCAA Division I championship. He won the pole vault title with a height of 18 feet and half an inch at the meet held at the University of Arkansas.

Empire State Games organizers unveil new poster, sponsors
Local organizers of the 2008 summer Empire State Games gathered at the University last week to unveil a new poster promoting the event as well as to name the games’ major sponsors.

The games will begin with a July 23 opening ceremony and continue through July 27. The University will play host to more than half the sporting events. Some 6,000 athletes representing six regions from across the state will compete in 28 Olympic-style sports in scholastic, open or masters divisions

RSS news feeds at Binghamton University
RSS stands for "Rich Site Summary" or "Really Simple Syndication" and is a technology that is used to gather and distribute Web based news from newspapers, Web sites, Web logs, magazines and more.

Binghamton University provides a variety of RSS news feeds to keep you up to date with what's going on around the University. The following news feeds are currently available:
·      News releases
·      Research

To subscribe to an RSS feed you will need two things, an RSS reader (also known as a news reader or aggregator) and the URL (web address) of the RSS feed you wish to subscribe to, listed above.

Some commonly used news readers are Feed Demon, Feedreader, NewzCrawler, and Awasu for Windows. NetNewsWire, Newsfire, and Shrook can be used for Macs. For those who like web-based readers there's Bloglines, My Yahoo!, and NewsGator.

Some browsers, including Firefox, Opera, and Safari, will automatically detect pages that offer RSS feeds. For more details, please check the documentation for the browsers. 

Once you have an RSS reader installed, click the link of the news feed you want to subscribe to and copy the URL. Then paste the URL into the reader as a new feed (your reader will have instructions on how to do this).
