Binghamton University is located one mile west of the city of Binghamton and is a short drive from major urban centers in New York and neighboring states. A number of bus companies serve the area, and the Binghamton Regional Airport provides major airline service. The University is 45 miles (about 1 hour) from Ithaca, 70 miles (about 1 1/2 hours) from Syracuse, 190 miles (about 3 hours)from Philadelphia, and 200 miles (about 3 hours) from New York City. Approximate driving time from Albany is 2 1/2 hours, 3 hours from Rochester, 4 1/2 hoursfrom Buffalo.

From the airport:
The area is served by the Greater Binghamton Airport. The University is 70 miles (about 1 1/2 hours) from Syracuse and Scranton-Wilkes-Barre airports.
From the Broome County Airport, exit the main drive onto Airport Road. Go eight miles SOUTH to Rte. 17 West (future 86). Travel west on 17 to Exit 70 SOUTH. Follow Route 201 and the SUNY signs, crossing bridge to Route 434 EAST. The main entrance to campus is your first right.

From New Jersey

Parking

For Visitors
Visitors to campus Monday through Friday (including holidays) may purchase a visitor parking permit or park at the parking garage, visitors paid lot or at a parking meter.
Visitor parking permits for the surface lots are available for $5 per day. Parking from 5 p.m. Friday until midnight Sunday is free.
Parking permits may be purchased at the:
- Information Booth at the main entrance to the University from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday
- Parking Services, room G-8 of the Couper Administration Building from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Department of Public Safety, room G-35 of the Couper Administration Building, 24 hours daily
Hourly parking is available at the Visitors Paid Lot across from Bartle Library and in the parking garage behind the Couper Administration Building. Rates are $1 an hour with a maximum rate of $5 per day.
Parking meters are located in front of the Administration Building, Lot C by the Anderson Center Box Office, the West Gym, the East Gym, Clearview Hall, the TRIO Office, the Campus Preschool and Early Childhood Center, the Library Tower area, and Lot H near the tennis courts. Meters are enforced from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday except for those meters located at the East Gym, West Gym and the Tennis Courts. Between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m., Monday through Friday, University parking permits are required at meters. Meters located in the gym lots and at the tennis courts have extended hours and should be checked at those locations for hours of enforcement.
For Undergraduate Admissions Visitors
Free parking is available on campus for our Undergraduate Admissions visitors in the parking garage and the Visitors Paid Parking Lot.
The Visitors Paid Parking Lot is located off the West Drive adjacent to the Hinman College Complex. From the main entrance to campus, Bartle Drive, follow the gold admission information signs directed to this lot.
The lower section of the Visitors Paid Parking Lot has been reserved for our Undergraduate Admission visitors. If these spaces are full, visitors are welcome to park in any space in this lot. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will provide parking vouchers at the information session that you can present as you exit.
The parking garage is located just beyond the information booth. Follow the signs at the traffic circle. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will provide parking vouchers at the information session that you can present as you exit. If the garage entry arm is up on a Saturday, you may enter without taking a ticket. You will not need a voucher to exit those days. Please observe posted parking restrictions and spaces reserved for disabled visitors.
Visitors needing disabled parking or special assistance are encouraged to call either the Parking Services Office or the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in advance to request a special daily parking pass. Disabled parking for Admissions Visitors with special passes is located in Lot L or Lot J (see campus map for details).
