Health Holds
If you have a health hold preventing registration, please follow the instructions on the Decker Student Health Services New Student Information page to get your hold lifted.
Credit Limits
Students may register for up to 4 credit hours in the 2023 Winter Session.
Cancellation of Courses
Because of the regulations governing the Winter Session, courses that do not meet the minimum enrollment targets are ordinarily canceled. The Winter Session Office cannot guarantee that every course listed in the BU Brain schedule of classes will actually be taught.
Student Complaint Policy
Students wishing to file a complaint should follow the procedures outlined in the University Bulletin under "Academic Grievance Procedures". Students taking courses through a distance-learning format may also file a complaint with their home state agency. The State Higher Education Executive Office (SHEEO) has provided a directory of student complaint information by state and agency.
Auditing a Course
Students may not audit courses in the Winter Session.

Dining Services
Binghamton University Dining Services will have at least one Residential Dining center serving our community from the first day of the fall semester through the end of spring exams for all our students. So that our employees can spend holidays with their families, we will not operate on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. We will also be opening some retail outlets as the business warrants during school breaks. You may use any meal plan at any open location. Check out What’s Open Now for the hours and location during breaks.
We will close fall resident meal plans (A-F) and commuter semester meal plans in January during winter session for at least a 24-hour period to update our system. As the winter break approaches, we will provide more information with the date for the closing of the fall plans as well as the opening of the spring plans at https://binghamton.sodexomyway.com/. The $25 Plan and the Commuter Annual Plan remain open between the fall and spring semesters.
