The Binghamton University Alumni Association Board of Directors works to engage every
graduate in the life of the University. Board members work in close partnership with
Alumni Engagement staff on a variety of key activities, including programming, communications,
and outreach to young alumni and current students.
Felicia Moreira has served on the Binghamton University Alumni Association Board of
Directors since 2019. During her tenure, she has held several leadership roles, including
secretary (2021–23), vice president (2023–25), and currently serves as board president.
Moreira works with alumni and campus partnerships at 12twenty, where she partners
with colleges and universities to strengthen alumni and campus engagement through
strategic technology solutions.
Prior to joining 12twenty, Moreira served in several roles at Binghamton University,
including positions in Residential Life, the Office of Alumni Engagement, Athletics,
and the Fleishman Career Center. These experiences provided her with a well-rounded
perspective on University operations and helped her build strong relationships across
campus.
Moreira is also a former student-athlete, having played on the Binghamton University
softball team. She resides in the Binghamton area with her husband Jose, also a Binghamton

Dan Black
Dan Black has served on the Alumni Association board since 2021, serving on multiple
committees and as the board secretary prior to his current role as vice president.
Black is the global talent strategy leader for EY, responsible for developing and
implementing strategies to attract, retain and optimize talent at the Big Four professional
services organization. Prior to that role, Black spent 25 years leading various EY
recruiting teams, solidifying Binghamton University as a key talent source for the
firm and serving as a mentor to students, alumni and prospects. Prior to his career
in recruiting, he served as an auditor for financial services clients as a Certified
Public Accountant. He also serves on several boards in the talent and early career
space and as a volunteer in a wide array of philanthropic and community organizations.
Black earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Binghamton University and a

Balki Iyer
"Balki" Iyer has been on the board since 2019 and has served on the Mentoring and
Career Development and Signature Events committees. He is a seasoned energy and utilities
industry management professional, with rich experience driving business development
for global conglomerates and successful startups. He has successfully steered three
startups from inception to exit, with investments from some of the largest utilities
and financial investors worldwide. He is on the advisory group for INK, a TED-like
platform in India that promotes inspiring ideas by game-changers. Iyer sat on the
executive board for GE’s Asia Pacific American Forum, a diversity group focused on
mentoring Asian American business leaders. He is a recipient of the prestigious Outstanding
50 Asian Americans in Business award in 2017 and was listed in the Top 100 North American
Power List 2020. Iyer received an honorary degree from Binghamton University in 2019.

Matthew DeSaro has served on the board since 2019. DeSaro is a special assistant attorney
general in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the Office of the New York State Attorney
General. In that role, he investigates and prosecutes a wide range of issues related
to the state’s Medicaid program, including violations of the False Claims Act, and
qui tam litigation. Prior to that, he served as a county and federal prosecutor, and
clerked for judges at the state and federal levels. He earned a Bachelor of Science
in management from the School of Management, a Bachelor of Arts in political science
from Harpur College, and a Master of Public Administration from the College of Community
and Public Affairs. Thereafter, he graduated from Brooklyn Law School, where he was
the president of the Moot Court Honor Society. In 2016, DeSaro received the Alumni

Cara Treidel has served on the board since 2017 and recently completed a two-year
term as president. Treidel is a CPA who serves as a manager at PricewaterhouseCooper
(PWC), specializing in financial consulting, risk management and audit services. Treidel
earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the School of Management in 2016. While
a student, she was a leader on the University’s inaugural RoadMap Committee, providing
counsel directly to President Harvey Stenger on strategic initiatives. She had roles
as a teaching assistant and resident assistant. After graduating, she remained heavily
engaged with the University, chairing the Alumni Association’s BOLD Leadership Council
before ascending to roles as board secretary, vice president, then president. Connect

Diana Correa is the senior facility manager for Ray's Splash Planet in Charlotte,
N.C. She is responsible for the overall management of staff, budgeting, programming,
and safety operations at this high-volume indoor splash park. Correa earned a bachelor's
degree in math and psychology in 2013 with a minor in health and wellness studies.
While a student, she had roles as captain and president for the Women's Club Soccer
Team and worked as both a referee and supervisor for Intramural and Club Sports.
After graduating, she remained involved with the University by serving as chapter
leads for both the Rochester, N.Y., and Charlotte alumni chapters. Correa also organized
multiple Global Days of Service projects and received the BOLD 10 Under 10 Alumni
Award and Lois B. DeFleur Distinguished Young Alumni Award in 2023.
Vasu Dev Rao Aitharaju is a director of product management at a construction-fintech
startup in New York, an entrepreneur and an active mentor at Yale tsai CITY. He graduated
with a Master of Science degree in industrial and systems engineering from Binghamton
University in 2005. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in mechanical engineering
from National Institute of Technology – India, and an MBA from Yale University. Aitharaju
has built multiple products from ideation to market and has led multiple successful
software and physical product launches in diverse environments including several geographical
regions, multiple industries and organizations of different sizes from startup to

Amanda Casares has dual degrees in geography and philosophy, politics and law. Casares
was a standout athlete, captaining the Binghamton women's soccer team and earning
numerous accolades, including Dean's List honors, NSCAA All-Region recognition, and
the prestigious John Bilos Award for outstanding career achievement. She furthered
her education with a master's degree from Binghamton, while serving as a graduate
assistant and volunteer assistant soccer coach. After graduation, Casares served as
chair of the Bearcats of the Last Decade (BOLD) Washington, D.C. chapter, fostering
connections among young alumni. As a federal technical program manager at RedSeal,
she leverages her expertise to support the U.S. Intelligence Community's cybersecurity
needs. She also leads the National Cathedral School's varsity team, and coaches for
Arlington Soccer and the Maryland Olympic Development Program. Connect with her on

David Cohan
David Cohan was elected to the board in 2025. He has been an active alumnus since
he and his wife graduated in 1987. Recently, he has deepened his involvement as both
of his children began attending Binghamton. For the past five years, he has been very
actively involved in the Parents Leadership Council and served as chair for three
years. During Family Weekends, he has spoken at legacy brunches and has organized
a Campus Pub pop-up for alumni parents to enjoy and reminisce. He has also hosted
summer sendoffs for new students and their parents to gather and meet with alumni

Joseph Cordero
Joseph E. Cordero is a Bronx-raised educator and servant-leader dedicated to advancing
opportunity through education. He serves as assistant principal of PSMS 31 in the
South Bronx and previously led Harlem Children’s Zone Promise Academy I Elementary
School to exceptional academic outcomes. He is a recipient of the Alumni Association's
Edward Weisband Distinguished Alumni Award for Public Service or Contribution to Public
Affairs. He is also a national leader in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and a recipient
of the Northeastern Province’s prestigious James M. Kidd Award.
Michael Devinoff
Michael Devinoff is the chief strategy officer and head of consulting services for
PharmaAce, a leadership role he recently assumed after almost a quarter-century career
at Bristol Myers Squibb, where he was senior vice president overseeing commercial,
manufacturing and enterprise analytics. He is also an adjunct professor at the Rutgers
University business school and a member of that university’s Alumni and Community
Engagement Council. Devinoff has increased his commitment to giving back, participating
in various Binghamton University alumni events, career development activities, career

Richard Gibney
Richard Gibney was elected in 2025. He recently retired from an extensive career in
retail merchandising, buying and planning in Metro New York. He started his career
at Abraham & Straus (A&S) Department Stores, a division of Federated Department Stores,
and later worked at Macy’s in Herald Square as planning vice president for young men’s
and boys. His most recent position was vice president of planning for women's ready-to-wear
and accessories private brand. At Binghamton, Gibney worked part-time in Hinman Dining
Hall but resided at Newing College in Endicott and Delaware, and later at College-in-the-Woods
in Oneida Hall. He spent one semester in Washington as part of an internship program
working for a Congressman. He stays connected with his friends from Binghamton and
comes back to visit campus often. Gibney is originally from Long Island but resides

Adam Greene
Adam Greene was elected to the board in 2025. He is an attorney at Goldman Sachs &
Co. LLC in the investment banking legal area. He graduated from Binghamton with a
bachelor’s degree in economics and philosophy, politics and law and earned a Juris
Doctor from the New York University School of Law in 1999. As an undergraduate, Greene
was president of Cleveland Hall in his sophomore year and president of Hinman College
in his junior year. He met his wife Katherine S. Meshkati ’97 in his sophomore year
in Cleveland Hall. They created an endowed scholarship which supports one undergraduate
student in Harpur College. Greene and Meshkati live in Rockville Centre, N.Y., and
have two sons, one of whom, Owen, attends Binghamton University. Greene serves on
the Binghamton Parents Leadership Council. In addition, he volunteers at Metro Connections
Night, has hosted multiple Employer Treks at Goldman Sachs, and mentors current and

Amy Hyatt
Amy Hyatt is recently retired from serving as the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic
of Palau 2015-20. Previously she worked for the U.S. Department of State in various
postings negotiating successful outcomes around the world in Egypt, Finland, North
Korea, Australia, Korea, Thailand, Philippines, Norway and the Czech Republic. Hyatt
was also a trial attorney in San Francisco during her early career. In 2016, the Alumni
Association presented her with the Edward Weisband Distinguished Alumni Award for
Public Service or Contribution to Public Affairs. She has also served as a TIER Talks
speaker for the University, coming back to campus for Homecoming in 2018 when she
spoke with two other panelists on “The Effects of Climate Change." Connect with her

Julius Johnson
Julius Johnson received his Bachelor of Science, with a major in nursing from Binghamton
University in 2005, a Master of Science with a major in family nurse practitioner
from Binghamton in 2009, and his Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of
Miami in 2016. Johnson specializes in home-based primary care, transitional care and
transformational community intervention projects. He is a founding member of the Greater

Stu Koenig
Stuart Koenig is chair of the Binghamton University Foundation Board of Directors.
He is a seasoned executive with significant experience in real estate private equity,
investment banking and finance. He is a retired senior partner and chief operating
officer of the real estate division of Ares Management and served as chair of all
of its real estate investment committees, including Ares Commercial Real Estate Corp.
(ACRE), a public mortgage real estate investment trust. Koenig recently served seven
years as an independent director of a multibillion-dollar, NYSE-listed company. He
has a 40-year work history of increasing responsibility and leadership, with the last
20 years in senior management roles of chief financial officer, chief administrative
officer, and/or chief operating officer. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English

George Lourentzatos
George Lourentzatos was elected to the board in 2025. As a seasoned healthcare strategist,
he leverages his expertise in operational excellence and cost reduction to drive positive
change at Union Health Center as chief of strategy and operations. Prior to joining
Union Health Center, Lourentzatos honed his skills at IBM, Montefiore, Northwell and
Mount Sinai. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in industrial and systems engineering
from Watson College. Lourentzatos fosters future leaders through his involvement with Binghamton University.
He offers internship opportunities, supports students through Mentor Match, participates
in NYC CONNECT, contributes to the Metro New York Chapter, and guides members of the

Darwin Martinez
Darwin Martinez is a New York–based business development and insurance professional
focused on strategic partnerships and client advisory services within the financial
services sector. He's a sales executive for Imperial PFS.
Martinez earned two undergraduate degrees from Binghamton University in 2011 and returned
to the School of Management to complete his MBA in 2016. Since graduating, he has
remained deeply engaged with the University through alumni leadership, mentorship,
and philanthropy. He has served on the board of the Alumni of Color Network and mentors
undergraduate students through the School of Management. Martinez is also an advocate
for the Educational Opportunity Program, leading fundraising and awareness efforts
that highlight the program’s transformative impact on students and alumni.
Beyond Binghamton, Martinez has been involved in community service initiatives across
New York and supports programs that expand educational access and alumni engagement.

Jon Nevett is president and CEO of Public Interest Registry (PIR), the nonprofit domain
name registry that operates .org and other Internet domain extensions targeted to
mission-driven entities and individuals. He is a veteran of the domain name industry,
co-founding Donuts Inc., in 2010, and helping raise in excess of $150 million to form
a registry of more than 240 Internet domain extensions. Before PIR and Donuts, he
was senior vice president at Network Solutions, responsible for policy, government
affairs, registry relations and corporate ethics. During the Obama Administration,
he was appointed to the Online Safety and Technology Working Group to help protect
children on the Internet. In the mid-1990s, he chaired the Alumni Association’s Potomac
Club/D.C. Metro Chapter and was given the association’s Young Alumni Award in 1996.
Nevett worked in the New York State Legislature and earned a juris doctor from Harvard

Alyssia Parris-Coates
Alyssia Parris-Coates is senior director of development for inclusive philanthropic
engagement at Brown University, where she leads strategy to advance inclusive philanthropy
and strengthen alumni and donor engagement. She partners across campus to support
key initiatives and serves as a liaison to Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the
Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in America, and the Ruth J. Simmons Center
for the Study of Slavery and Justice. Previously, Parris-Coates spent 24 years at
the University of Notre Dame in leadership roles spanning development, enrollment,
and academic affairs, where she created a national outreach and recruitment model
to expand access for prospective talented students to engage with selective institutions.
Parris-Coates holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Binghamton University,
and a PhD in organizational leadership from Andrews University. She is a certified
Maxwell Leadership coach and a frequent presenter for CASE, AFP, and NADOHE and serves
on the editorial board for the Journal of Education Advancement and Marketing. Connect

Teni Sopitan
Oluwateniayo Sopitan is the first graduate of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical
Sciences to be elected to the Binghamton University Alumni Association Board of Directors.
She is a PharmD fellow in the Rutgers University Fellowship program, working as a
product manager at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine. At Binghamton, Sopitan was
a volunteer coach for the women’s volleyball team for two seasons. She served as vice
president of the Oncology Pharmacy Student Organization and served on various committees
for the pharmacy school's student government. Prior to attending Binghamton University,
she earned her undergraduate degree at North Carolina State University where she was

Simone Sterling received her bachelor's degree with a double major in history and
philosophy, politics, and law from Binghamton in 1998, and her Juris Doctorate from
Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2001.
As an undergraduate, Sterling was actively engaged with the Caribbean Students Association,
Thurgood Marshall Pre-Law Society, and various other on-campus initiatives. She serves
on the Harpur Law Council Steering Committee. She previously served on the Alumni
of Color Steering Committee. In addition, she volunteers annually at CONNECT Networking
Night, Global Days of Service, and was a recipient of the Alumni Association's Medal

Marjorie Strelzyn
Marjorie Strelzyn is an optometrist and director of the contact lens service at Montefiore
Medical Center. She is an assistant professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences
at the Einstein College of Medicine and enjoys teaching residents, interns and medical
students. Strelzyn has served on the Binghamton Parents Leadership Council 2016-22
and chaired the council the final three years of her tenure on that board. She and
her husband, Barry Witt ’80, created an endowed “Acts of Kindness” scholarship which
supports one undergraduate student annually who has impacted the community through
acts of kindness. Strelzyn was an active member of the Binghamton Campaign Committee.
Dana West
Dana West has been on the board since 2019 and has served on the Lifelong Learning
Committee. He is founder and leader of the Westchester Chapter of the Alumni Association
and lives in Westchester County with his wife, Nancy, and their two children. West
is a certified public accountant with more than 20 years of service in the financial
services industry. He is a financial planner with Prudential Advisors, with other
career stints at NSBC Retail Bank and Wealth Management and at Morgan Stanley. West
