Francis Y. Chang
Chang is known as a spatial practice artist whose work incorporates wide-ranging approaches from sculpture, installation, drawing, performance, theater, and text. Chang's conceptually-driven projects explore themes of history and fantasy, land use, and systems of knowledge and ideology. His work has been exhibited at Sea & Space Explorations, Torrance Art Museum, Glendale College Art Gallery, LA Design Center, Armory Northwest (Pasadena), High Desert Test Sites, UCLA Design Media Arts Grad Gallery, Virginia Commonwealth University (Richmond), Dartmouth College (Hanover), and TCB art inc. (Melbourne). His essay, “An Anecdotal History of the Word 'Patriot'" appeared in MATERIAL Issue 3 and he was a contributor to the book, Dispatches and Directions: On Artist-Run Organizations in Los Angeles.
