Funding Opportunities

  • The Aldo and Reta Bernardo Fund

    Named in honor of Binghamton Distinguished Service Professor Aldo Bernardo (1920-2011), Department of Romance Languages, and his wife, Reta. Professor Bernardo, a prominent scholar of Petrarch founded CEMERS in 1966. This endowed fund supports an annual lecture in medieval Italian literature as well as other CEMERS programming. The fund also supports an Award for a graduating senior majoring in Medieval or Early Modern Studies and provides funding for CEMERS graduate students taking summer intensive language courses or traveling to archives.   • Bernard F. Huppé Fund

    This endowed fund has been established by Alex Huppé ('69) in honor of his father, Distinguished Service Professor Bernard Huppé (1911-1989), a Professor of medieval English literature at Binghamton University and a founding member of Binghamton University as well as CEMERS. Professor Huppé co-directed CEMERS with Aldo Bernardo from its inception in the Fall of 1966. This endowment provides support for the the purchase of materials—particularly medieval manuscripts—for the Special Collections of the Binghamton University Libraries. (Account #20352)
