The following mission, vision and philosophy statements apply across all divisions within Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
Our mission is to disseminate and advance knowledge about human healthcare, health promotion and the treatment of illness in individuals, families and communities, with an emphasis on rural and other vulnerable populations.
As a public institution, Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences is committed to implementing diversity, inclusion and equity initiatives to create an educational environment to meet the needs of diverse students. Moreover, we use evidence-based research to prepare our healthcare professionals to meet diverse patient populations' needs and provide leadership on addressing social justice from a healthcare perspective.
Our ultimate goals are to prepare future leaders in nursing, healthcare and healthcare research; promote faculty and student research and scholarship, with a particular focus on solving the most challenging health problems in rural and other vulnerable populations; and continue to educate the public about emerging and established healthcare regimens.
