Background

Becki Cohill joined Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences in January 2022 as a clinical associate professor and doctoral coordinator for the Division of Occupational Therapy. She comes to Binghamton from the University of St. Augustine of Health Sciences in San Marcos, Calif., where she held a variety of positions including associate professor, academic fieldwork coordinator and doctoral coordinator from 2015 to 2021. 

As a clinician, Cohill has more than 30 years of experience in a variety of clinical settings including pediatrics, acute care, home healthcare, mental health, skilled nursing and school-based practice.

Noting a shortage of early intervention providers in rural communities, she participated in the Early Intervention Colorado Telehealth Pilot Program. The program resulted in the development of the telehealth online learning modules for Early Intervention Colorado/Colorado Office of Early Childhood. When the COVID-19 pandemic required pediatric occupational therapists to transition to telehealth, Cohill provided webinars to more than 1,000 practitioners worldwide to support a successful transition to this service delivery model. She continues to provide telehealth early intervention occupational therapy for Grand Junction, Colo., and American Samoa, as well as volunteers and provides telehealth to children in Belize through the Inspiration Center.
