Decker Foundation Support

The Dr. G. Clifford and Florence B. Decker Foundation has a long history of generous support for the ISPC and its mission. The Decker Foundation was instrumental in providing funding to begin the simulation program in 2007 for the purchase of the first high-fidelity simulators. With the move to the new building and expanded space, the Decker Foundation again provided generous support for state-of-the-art equipment, high-fidelity manikins and audio/visual recording systems.

Simulation Wing

The simulation wing includes a control room for observing and interacting with the simulation areas, a classroom for prebriefing and four debriefing rooms. All simulation spaces are equipped with video-recording capabilities to allow for self-reflection and faculty review of activities.

The deliberate practice area is designed for teaching and practice of skills for a wide range of healthcare professions. Four practice beds with headwalls and counter-height tables provide flexible areas for a variety of activities. Large screens allow for projecting skills demonstrations or reviewing training videos.

Skills Practice (Room 217)

The skills practice room supports independent student practice with badge access any time the building is open. Practice with a student mentor is available by appointment six days a week during the fall and spring semesters. The area has four practice beds with headwalls and counter-height tables, similar to the deliberate practice area.

Innovative Instruction  (Rooms 205–212)

ISPC Innovative Instruction Room

The innovative instruction rooms are set up mainly as exam rooms. However, all furniture is movable to provide flexible functionality. With a variety of healthcare programs and increasing virtual-reality simulation opportunities, the innovative instruction rooms can meet the needs of our students now and in the future.  These rooms also support video recording for competency-based activities.
