Background

Brian Rooney is a clinical assistant professor in the Division of Physical Therapy at Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences. He joined Binghamton University in 2018, transferring into Decker College in September 2021.

Rooney holds a bachelor's degree in zoology from Trinity College Dublin and a PhD in neuroscience from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where his dissertation focused on spinal cord injury. He also completed postdoctoral research on traumatic brain injury at Georgia Tech.

He brings considerable experience teaching human anatomy and physiology at the college level to his role at Decker College.
