Biography
Jane Alberdeston Coralin's work has been published in various anthologies and journals, such as Step into a World, Bum Rush the Page, Paterson Literary Review, Sargasso: A Journal of Caribbean Literature, The Acentos Review, Rock and Sling: A Journal of Witness, Manteca! An Anthology of AfroBoricua Poets, and Caribbean Vistas. She has performed her work in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. While studying at Binghamton under the tutelage of Prof. Maria Mazziotti Gillan and Dr. Jaimee Wriston Colbert, she co-authored a young adult novel called Sister Chicas about three Latina friends living in Chicago (NAL/Penguin). After graduating from the Creative Writing Program at BU in 2007, Jane returned to her birthplace where she began teaching creative writing and literature in the English Department at the University of Puerto Rico - Arecibo. She is working on her novel Colony 51 and revising her short story collection Vivid Gods, in addition to exploring other story ideas and writing opportunities. She has three boisterous chihuahuas who, after living on a tropical island all their lives, are going to be surprised by a Binghamton winter. Jane is excited to return to her alma mater and is looking forward to an engaging and spirited academic year with the BU writing community.
