Graduate Student Fee Scholarships
Binghamton University provides fall and spring semester broad-based fee scholarships directly to eligible graduate student workers to eliminate the majority of their out-of-pocket mandatory fee obligation. There is no separate application required to receive this fee scholarship. FAQs
- Who do I contact if I have questions about my eligibility?
Your Graduate Program Director should be able to answer a general question about whether students enrolled in your program are eligible for fee scholarships. For additional information, you can reach out to the Graduate School (graduate@binghamton.edu). - Fees are showing on my student account. When will my Fee Scholarship be applied?
Fee Scholarships are automatically applied by the university prior to the start of the semester, and after Day 15 of the semester. If you enrolled after the Day 15 deadline, then you may not be eligible to receive the Fee Scholarship. - What actions do I need to take?
None! Fees are automatically paid for eligible students, so there are no actions you need to take. If you have concern about fees that have not been paid, please contact Financial Aid to determine whether you meet eligibility requirements for the Fee Scholarship, or whether you are responsible for paying fees independently. - My Student Account is showing that I owe an Activity Fee and other college-based fees.
Do I have to pay these fees?
Yes. In accord with SUNY guidance, Binghamton University covers all "broad-based" fees, which is the majority of fees normally charged to students. These fees fall outside our Scholarship and students are therefore responsible for paying them independently.
