Minor in East European and Eurasian Studies (EEES)
Meant to complement a wide range of majors, the East European and Eurasian Studies minor teaches region-specific concepts and research tools, while supporting students in developing introductory-level knowledge at least one of the region’s many languages. This knowledge will equip students to better address issues related to this area in their future careers, whether these be in law, business, science, government or non-profit work, health, or teaching.
Minor Requirements
All students must complete 24 credits of coursework:
- At least 1 course offering broad coverage of the entire EEES area
- 3 EEES courses at the advanced level (300 or 400 level)
- At least 1 EEES course in the humanities (e.g. literature, comparative literature, theatre).
- At least 1 EEES course in the social sciences (e.g. political science, anthropology, history)
All EEES winter and summer courses can be found through a search for EEES, but many in-semester courses that are eligible for the minor do not yet carry the EEES rubric.
To obtain a list of EEES eligible courses, reach out to REEES Director Heather DeHaan (hdehaan@binghamton.edu).
