ISSS SOCIAL PROGRAMS

ISSS organizes a variety of programs to help international students and scholars excel academically and socially. ISSS also partners with other offices, departments, divisions, and student groups at Binghamton University, as well as community organizations to bring a variety of programming to both foreign and domestic students. Check out our B-Engaged page for upcoming events!

International Education Week

The Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) and the Office of International Education and Global Initiatives (IEGI) host events each November in celebration of International Education Week

Global Networking Group

The Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) and the Office of International Education and Global Initiatives (IEGI) are excited to invite Binghamton University students to participate in the Global Networking Group (GNG)!

The Binghamton University GNG aims to promote meaningful interactions between current students, develop intercultural communication skills, and strengthen community among students. The program also strives to be as inclusive as possible - all members of the Binghamton University community are welcome to come to GNG events and there is no strict commitment. GNG is simply a series of casual, fun social events for globally minded Bearcats.

To get further updates on the events themselves, please complete our mailing list sign-up here.

Friendship Family Program

The Friendship Family Program provides an opportunity for our international students and members from the Binghamton community to get to know each other.  Students receive more social support as they transition to a new culture while Friendship Families learn about cultures from around the world.

International Coffee Hour

International Coffee Hour is held monthly during the academic year. The coffee hour provides a space where members of the entire University community can meet in a relaxed atmosphere. Each coffee hour is sponsored by a different University department or office. Refreshments are free.

If you have any questions about International Coffee Hour, contact isss@binghamton.edu.

Collaborate with ISSS

The Office of International Student and Scholar Services wants to collaborate with you! The ISSS supports the University's goal to internationalize and partners with other offices, departments, divisions and student groups at Binghamton University, as well as community organizations, to enhance the University's economic, social and cultural impact.

We help nurture the growth of an international community and foster an environment that is responsive to its needs. Complete the ISSS Collaboration Request Form to be considered for program advertisement, assistance or financial sponsorship. Note that, if you are requesting financial sponsorship, the ISSS will ask to be visibly recognized at the event.
