Blythe Roveland-Brenton, Ph.D.

Background

Blythe has headed Binghamton University Libraries’ Special Collections since 2018. Previously she served as university archivist and head of Special Collections and associate dean of libraries at St. John’s University in Queens. She is a proud alumna of Binghamton University, having majored in anthropology and German. She received a Fulbright-Hays grant for one year of graduate study in archaeology at the University of Cologne, Germany. Blythe subsequently earned her master’s and doctorate degrees in anthropology, with a specialization in European Palaeolithic archaeology. She also received a master’s degree in library and information science from St. John’s University, with an archives and special collections concentration. Blythe is passionate about raising awareness of special collections at Binghamton and encouraging students to explore the unique material available to them.
