Space Planning and Academic Scheduling Effectiveness

The Office of Space Planning and Academic Scheduling Effectiveness (SPASE), formerly known as CBASM, optimizes the University's space usage and manages academic scheduling initiatives. Working collaboratively with campus partners, we coordinate data-driven space planning, maintain course catalog data integrity, refine academic scheduling to enhance the student experience, and promote high-quality learning environments that are inclusive and accessible.

Core Funtional Areas:

The SPASE office works to advance the University's educational and research missions, providing oversight and administration over three primary areas:

  • Course Catalog and Schedule of Classes (Banner) Administration
We ensure the integrity of the course catalog and facilitate the timely, accurate publication of the university Schedule of Classes.
  • Space Planning and Management
We manage the formal space request and cross-unit transfer process, maintain and analyze space usage data, and foster well-functioning learning, research, and work environments.
  • Academic and Event Scheduling and B There System Administration
We manage the institutional configuration, technical troubleshooting, and functional training for the B There campus scheduling platform, while overseeing requests for general purpose classrooms.
