Important: Read before you start your application.

  1. Email Address: You'll need a valid email address to create your application.
  2. Program Selection: Choose carefully—once your application is under review, the Online Programs Office cannot change your program.
  3. Browser: Use Google Chrome for the best performance.
  4. Timing: Start your application at least 1 month before your program’s deadline.
  5. Name Change (if applicable): Former Binghamton University students or staff who have changed their name must submit an official name change form with the Office of Financial Aid and Student Records before applying.

Visa Eligibility

  • Online programs do not qualify for U.S. student visas (F-1 or J-1).
  • Binghamton University cannot issue an I-20 for programs that are exclusively online.
  • If you are an F-1 or J-1 student, you are not eligible to enroll in Exclusively Online Programs.

Who May Be Eligible

  • International students living outside the U.S. may take exclusively online courses from their home country.
  • International students in the U.S. with a different visa status (not F-1 or J-1) may be eligible.  Please contact International Student and Scholar Services before applying to confirm your eligibility.

Field Placements or Internships

  • While all coursework is online, some programs may include field placements or internships.  These may not always be possible to complete outside the U.S.  Contact your program department to confirm whether placements can be arranged in your home country.

Any deliberate falsification or omission of application data may result in rescinding of admission, denial of permission to enroll or dismissal from courses. Through online application submissions, all applicants affirm acceptance of these terms and conditions.
