Supporting the Department of Political Science
Political Science is one of the most popular majors at Binghamton University. Political science undergraduate students learn about how governments here and abroad function, gain insights into domestic and international policy outcomes, and develop important skills. Some of our undergraduates have gone on to manage campaigns, run for office, or work in government. Many have gone to law school, graduate school, and to a variety of careers in the public sector.
Our highly-ranked graduate program is a core part of the department and attracts students from many different countries. Graduate students take a variety of challenging courses, get teaching experience, and are expected to produce research for conferences by their second or third year. The department has prioritized the training and socialization of graduate students by devoting most of its spending to send them to specialized summer programs, fund conference travel, and provide summer research opportunities.
Donations to the department’s general fund serve multiple purposes, starting with support of graduate students and including faculty research and expanding efforts to fund undergraduate research opportunities. We are grateful for your support.
