No. Many students decide to enroll in our in-person programs, register for elective courses that provide specialized education in a specific area of study, and our program offers specialized study in nonprofit management, local government, and sustainable communities. Students can also take courses outside of the MPA or Sustainable Communities program, and the department has relationships with the departments of social work, Higher Education and Student Affairs, Geography, and Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences (health policy), amongst many others.

The MPP program does not allow for alternative course work. However many areas are explored within the program.

In our MPA and Sustainable Communities (MS) programs, most courses are in a traditional, in-person classroom setting, with a limited number of online or hybrid classes.

Our MPP is completed entirely online and asynchronously to accommodate our students' busy schedules.

It depends on the student. Traditionally, it takes approximately two years to complete the MPA or Sustainable Communities (MS) degree; however, there are opportunities to speed up the timeline for your degree or take classes part-time.
