Housing Information for Binghamton's Thanksgiving Break
Binghamton University's Thanksgiving break is from November 25 to November 29. Residence Halls will close at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 25th, and will reopen at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 29th. Students wishing to remain on campus may do so by registering on their Housing Portal, which will be available in October 2026.
Note: There is a fee to remain on campus for this Break. Please review fee information below.
What to do before leaving for Thanksgiving break
Student residents who are not remaining on campus during break must complete the following before departing:
- Completely empty/remove all of your trash from your cans/recycling bins.
- Unplug all electrical devices (except refrigerators).
- Close and lock your windows.
- Make sure you take your keys with you.
- If you plan to leave your car on campus during break, please note that you will need to move your car to a specific lot. We will update information here as it is released.
Students remaining on campus for Thanksgiving break
Staying on Binghamton's campus for Thanksgiving break? Be sure to register on the Housing Portal and review the following important details:
- Services will be limited.
- Area offices will be closed.
- Dining will be available throughout break. However, options will be limited. There will be no on-campus dining available on Thanksgiving day (November 27).
- OCCT buses will run on a limited schedule.
- Make every effort to keep your keys with you at all times! If you are locked out of your room, the response time to key you in could be lengthy.
- Ensure that your windows are closed at all times during your stay.
