Joshua C. Felver, PhD ABPP

Background

Joshua C. Felver, PhD ABPP (he/him), is an Associate Professor of Social Work in the College of Community and Public Affairs at Binghamton University, and a Courtesy Associate Professor in the Bronfenbrenner Center for Translational Research at Cornell University. He is a licensed psychologist with board certification from the American Board of Professional Psychology. He is a nationally and internationally recognized scholar in mindfulness-based programming (MBP) for youth. His research focuses on developing, implementing, and exploring the mechanisms of MBP in school and community settings to address health disparities in diverse and at-risk populations. Dr. Felver's work has received funding from both federal sources (NIH) and private organizations (Mind and Life Institute), and he has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific publications and the book Mindfulness in the Classroom (New Harbinger Publications).

His current scholarship includes implementation and evaluation of (1) brief daily mindfulness practices in very large public school districts, and (2) Mental Health First Aid across New York State in collaboration with Cornell Cooperative Extension.
