Background
Brendan Hennessey is Associate Professor of Italian in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at Binghamton University. His specializations include Italian cinema and photography, the interrelationships between film and the other arts, and the technology of Italian moviemaking. He is the author of Luchino Visconti and The Alchemy of Adaptation (SUNY Press, 2021), a study of literary adaptation in the cinema of Italian director Luchino Visconti. Hennessey is co-editor of book reviews at the Journal for Italian Cinema & Media Studies and has published widely on Italian film with articles on digital special effects, the boxing film, literary adaptation, and Italy’s connection with cinema in the Americas.
