Diversity

WE BELIEVE OUR BINGHAMTON COMMUNITY IS ONE THAT VALUES UNITY, IDENTITY AND EXCELLENCE.

The Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) acknowledges that from the impacts of Covid-19 to the Black Lives Matter protests, we all have a responsibility to be socially conscious and work to create a campus climate that fosters inclusion.

DEI includes the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC), the Q Center (QC), and the UDiversity Educational Institute (UDiversity). Our Centers and Institute can help you engage in these movements by:

  • helping you to explore cultural competency and diversity education (UDiversity)
  • supporting marginalized genders and sexualities through the Active Ally Program (QC)
  • fostering inclusive and equitable communities through the Intercultural Welcome Series and MLK Week

UDiversity

UDiversity Educational Institute (UDiversity) offers an internship program for students to help create social justice based dialogues. Sign up for our monthly newsletter to receive updates from UDiversity and to learn more about our UDiversity internship! Email deiudiv@binghamton.edu for application details.

Multicultural Resource Center

The Multicultural Reource Center (MRC) offers programs, opportunities and events designed to increase acceptance, awareness and understanding of cultural diversity. The MRC works with students to create fun and engaging opportunities for Bearcats to explore and value their own identities and those of others. Learn more about the MRC on the Orientation Services Fair website, follow MRC on social media and sign up to receive our Culture Connects Weekly to gain more cultural news.

Q Center

The Q Center focuses on community building, education and programming that affirms all gender identities and sexual orientations. Our Pegasus First-year Experience Program offers a fun way to connect with other LGBTQ+ students and allies. Find all the details and register for Pegasus on the Orientation Services Fair website. Also be sure to check out our Gender Affirming Classroom resource to learn why Bearcats respect proper pronouns at Binghamton University! Follow The Q Center on social media and sign up to receive our Q Tea Newsletter.
