Binghamton University’s Environmental Studies Program, VINES and the Andrus family invite you to a Remembrance Day for Professor Richard “Dick” Andrus. Register at https://www.binghamton.edu/
Andrus was a botanist by training and came to Binghamton University in 1973 to establish its environmental studies program and changed the lives and paths of many students, planting the seeds of a more sustainable world. He helped shape Binghamton’s Nature Preserve, worked to protect the environment and encourage the local food movement in his own community, among many other accomplishments.
Event schedule:
- 11 a.m. - A remembrance service in the Pollinator Garden, located behind the Harpur College monolith. In case of rain, the event will be held indoors.
- 11:45 a.m. - A short memorial hike in the Nature Preserve.
- 1 p.m. - A gathering at the Urban Farm on Tudor Street in Binghamton. Light food and beverages will be provided; feel free to bring a dish to pass.
